I mean never see here to have such a problem , which is very nice and tolerant actually coz many foreigners works here... Gia paradigma- (when u go to Dubai for a drink , the all service sector also speak just an english , not arabian ) Sorry again with my comparings :)))

Most of the "foreign" staff English is their second language, but I think the point is if you employ cheap labour ,this should reflect in the prices. If you go to a 5* resturant in the uk you do not expect to order in russian

There was a time when Cyprus was a place of beautiful and welcoming customs, where the owner of the taverna you visited for the last few years remembered you and asked how your family were. Now however, I find nobody cares anymore. It's all about the money!!!

A stranger on a shit wage will seat you, take your order, and who can blame them for their rudeness, when they get a crappy wage and are not a part of what was once was "cypriot hospitality".

They don't know you, they don't give a shit if you return.

It's so sad that one of the things that once made this island so popular with visitors, is the one thing that is lost due to cutting costs on things that matter.
i.e......cheap, shit staff = Brand new Merc
F**k long term custom...= I made 50 cents on each pint TODAY

Sad Shame.

I have just now called him and he told me that he paid EURO 15.00!!!

We had a double Greek coffee, a frape and a bottle of water.!!!

Average cost of above in Athens is about EURO 7-8

AHA! Look, this is the sad reality of Limassol these days- I actually know the guy running Cento pretty well and I still won't go. You weren't ripped off for being a tourist, these are the horror stories in a lot of places.
Lanitis lemonade 7 euro
Shot whisky 12 euro
Anyone with a brain has ended up restricting themselves to a few bars and cafes with reasonable prices

Are they killing the goose that lays the golden egg !!

They are squeezing the regular goose till it shits gold...
