Postby halil » Tue Sep 08, 2009 7:20 pm

After St Mamamas Crisis new crisis is on the way in Cyprus.

TRNC Muftu wants to take Turkish Citizans to Hala Sultan in the Evening of Kadir Gecesi . Which is a holy night for moslems .for this occacians Imams are İnform the United Nations.

Hard times are on .... Both sides are playing their last games.

FOREIGN MINISTER ACCUSES GREEK CYPRIOT ADMINISTRATION OF TRYING TO REMOVE RESPONSIBILITY OF NON-SOLUTION

TRNC Foreign Minister Huseyin Ozgurgun has said the Greek Cypriot Side has recently intensified its efforts to shrug off the responsibility for the non-solution of the Cyprus Problem.

He also accused the Greek Cypriot Administration of trying to achieve political gains on the Cyprus Problem by exerting pressure on Turkey through its EU membership process.

In a press statement issued today, the Foreign Minister accused the Greek Cypriot Side of resorting to blackmail in order to achieve political gains on the Cyprus Problem.

He said that such attempts carried out a time when talks on the Cyprus Problem had reached a critical stage and when important decisions concerning Turkey’s EU membership process were be taken unveiled the Greek Cypriot Side’s true intentions.

Reminding that important responsibility fell on third parties, particularly the UN and the EU at this stage, Ozgurgun said that a comprehensive solution in Cyprus could only be reached through negotiations and not by pressuring the Turkish Side, a message which the international community had to openly and clearly send out.

Pointing out that the Greek Cypriot Side’s attempts to obtain concessions from Turkey by targeting its EU membership negotiations would not yield any results; the Foreign Minister warned that such efforts were preventing the talks from being carried out in a positive atmosphere.

Stating that any settlement to be reached in Cyprus had to based on the political equality of the two sides, Ozgurgun said that Greek Cypriots needed to be encouraged to contribute towards reaching a lasting solution to the Cyprus Problem.

Explaining that exerting pressure on Turkey to open its ports to Greek Cypriot traffic will have a negative impact on the current talks, the Foreign Minister reminded that Ankara has given its full support to the process and has done all it can for a settlement in Cyprus.

Ozgurgun also accused the Greek Cypriot Side of dragging its feet at the negotiations process and of constantly preventing efforts by the international community to end the isolation of the Turkish Cypriots.

Erdogan wrote:Responding to criticisms made against his government, Erdogan said “we adopted a proactive stance on the Cyprus Problem and were criticized for doing so. Then they accused us of selling out Cyprus. Could someone please tell me which one of these claims is true?” He said that no concessions had been made on the Cyprus Issue.

You're right, YFred. The free Cypriots should turn the other butt cheek... not that I'm religious.

Cannot stop RoC citizens from visiting any place in the RoC nor from exercising their freedom of religion.

NOthing would illustrate the ethnic complex of the north better than letting everyone do their religious thing, whatever it might be.

In fact from what I read in Politis the moslem, non Cypriot, community in the south is celebrating right now with great attendance at the Nicosia mosque.
