The RoC should take the initiative if talks fail

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby GeorgeV97qaue » Tue Sep 08, 2009 2:53 pm

The TC's were used by the british in the 50's and now Turkey is doing the same. You keep saying we should ease isolation.

What will you do in return.

Give us our land back? Very doubtful
Remove the Flag?

Please let me knowTC's what will you do for us?

Its a gamble. You could use it as a bargaining tool. If not satisfied, withdraw the 'friendly attitude'.

They may even remove the blot on the landscape. It should not be there in the first place. These are just small peices in the chess game. Sacrificial pawns and all that. If you dont go down that path, you will not find out.

We may be saying the same thing in different ways. My point is that the RoC should offer a BBF that suits us, NOT Turkey. Once they reject it then we will have the ethical ground to release ourselves from the BBF concept and actively push for a unitary RoC, which is a fairer solution.

If on the other hand we continue the current situation for 20 more years, without Turkey having any cost or pressure, it will simply be impossible to reverse the situation on the ground (you cannot deport a million turks - that's what they are aiming for)

The aim has never been to have a million. The aim was always to restore the balance of the population before the GC attempt to cleanse Cyprus of TCs. Unfortunately even after 74, the tide continued due to our lovely cousins in the south with their suffocating activities.

What distresses me most is that fact that 'our cousins' in the south fail to see that it is their 'suffocating activities' that pushes the TC's into the arms of Turkey. Ofcourse Turkey loves it. Then the GC's cry wolf.

I'd be interested to hear your take on what the RoC can/should do to fix this Deniz. It would make an interesting new thread.

I will not begin a new thread as I can not think like a politician. Only that way I would be able to answer questions. Suffice to say, if the RoC showed a more friendly attitude towards activities of the north and not getting their knickers in a twist because the north deigns to represent itself abroad, might endear more TCs to trust the RoC. But no, you have to bring up 'recognition/non-recognition every and each time.

As I said before, the RoC is pushing us into the arms of Turkey. Personally I have no wish to become a 'vilayet' of Turkey, but your actions/inactions will not prevent this happening.

I hope I will not live (long enough) to see the day.

Deniz, please don't wish that. If they continue with the current stupidities it may well happen sooner that you think.

FFS, we have one link with Syria and they have tried everything under the sun to stop it. Ifs this is the RoC being kind and generous, I've said it before and at the expense of repeating myself, they can roll up their generosity and shove it up DT's and Shitface's rear orifice where they will enjoy it.

Your obsession with my rear end is beginning to worry me. I have no issues with homosexuals in fact 2 of my favourite people on this forum are gay...but your shameful homophobia designed to hide your true inclinations is sickening. Either come out of the closet or stop fantasising about our arses. Same way your old man came clean about the murders he committed Y fronts....you should follow.

Your people failed to get GCs through Limnitis the other day to visit a church despite the success of two consecutive TC visits of a similar nature!

Your cooperation in something so simple yet important to the GCs, would’ve gone a long way towards your relationship with them but you failed miserably. Don’t ever forget that.

And what do you do with that one link you have with Syria? You bring in illegal immigrants and try to make money on those poor souls back and dump them on a beach and show them the way to the South. Good example Y-Fuck

No mate we are not that stupid. Why should we trust the Turks after what they have done to our country. We put our trust in you and turkey when we signed up to the Zurich Agreement and look where that got us. Occupation, murder and rape.

What garantees do we have you will play ball once that happens. You make the goodwill gesture first like giving back the villages that are empty and remove that racist flag then I believe the GC's would then be prepared to start looking at easing the isolation.

You have got some cheek you invade us rape our young girls murder civilians and then you want us to ease isolation before you show goodwill.

Really listen to what your asking for. Would you agree to that if the shoe was on the other foot?

"(i.e. the TC-administered region to have 18% of land and 18% of coastline). " Tony, have you tried to draw such an area on the map of Cyprus? It is just about impossible to do it.

The fact that our side does not have a "model" plan shows the tragic state of GC politics. Obviously the politicians do not want to show their hand and be compromised at the negotiating table etc. But a private think tank could have published and promoted such a plan, but NO, we are big on dialectic, ie inviting the others side for an argument but not on vision of a solution or how the life of citizens might unfold in a reasonable and democratic BBF.

Private individuals, including several forum members, have managed to put together a model plan of a Cyprus solution. Look up Kikapu's plan and Repulsewarrior's manifesto. They are way ahead of anything Cyprus politicians have come up with.

Our approach is anPublic Relations disaster. The only thing that saves us is that the other side is even worse at it than we are.

Who will be the G/c President who can or could -during the last 35 years-to explain to the Greeks of Cyprus that the real meaning of what we are calling negotiations , is the surrenter terms of a lost war?
Turks are looking for terms of surrenter after they consider that they won a war. Greek government in Athens is dealling with mafiozos in free economy (greek way economy) and leadershoip in Cyprus all these years are organzing policies about CB like they are dealling with the ownership of the moon.

Situation is so simple. Turks invatd/occupy beig part of the Island and they other side has or shoud have only two ways. Either to negotiate terms of surrenter as they are doing now or to stuck on the terms invasion/occupation status and fight this situation (peacefully) as such.No dialog/no negotiation/no boarders trade/no visits nothing at all-Till the last Turkish soldier get out of the Island.
The choose was ours and we choosed the worst-for the time being...
The one Great leader (Karamanlis) guided to us to Zurich and the second great leader (Makarios) guided us to shareholding of the Island.I hope that the president who will sign the final solution will be a simple person and not a great leader-!!!!

There you go....no trust.............in the end we will both be fucked.

If you do not want to reach an amicable resolution to this problem, this is the sort of crap people will come up with.

Will we (meaning all of us) ever learn.

R u sure u put trust in TCs and Turkey by signing up the Zurich agreement? Or u were "imposed" it by "foreigners" and "forced" to sign up? Or a solution satisfactory to all was needed as a requirement of being in the same alliance but u weren't aware of it? Nevertheless, most of the GCs and Greeks still r not aware of it...
