1571. August 6, Famagusta fell.

1821. Archbishop Cyprianos and his Suffragans exe-
cuted at Nicosia.

1882. Cyprus under Mehmed Ali. :shock:

1840. Cyprus restored to Turkey. :shock:

1859. October 29, great flood at Nicosia.

1878. June 4, Cyprus Convention signed.

1878. July 12, British occupation.
