The Yeni Düzen newspaper reports that, due to a need to reduce the number of state employees, the 13th Century Antifonitis Monastery in Esentepe/Kalogrea has been closed to visitors.

There seems to be plenty of money for provocative Ataturk statues and new mosques, though, Fred. Even based on my own casual observations in the north, I could make some constructive suggestions as to how the authorities there could make staff cuts without affecting anybody!

Well pop in and see Eroglu, and tell him your ideas, I am sure he will welcome you with open arms.
He is one of the Original TMT men, what did you expect from him?

Precisely. To me, this is one more tiny peice of the jigsaw.

No Tim, we had a chance and TPapa killed it. Wasted 4 years of possible negotiations. TCs are sick of the situations and have given up on peace. Trust is gone. Only children play with jigsaw puzzles. You can come up with all sorts of conspiracy theories in life but sometimes reality is much simpler.

The reality is that you always choose to blame free Cypriots for your woes; for places of worship closing, for isolation, for suffocation, for selling stolen property, for the settlers, for missing the boat, for not making concessions, for not giving in to a bully. Stop it. The reality is much simpler. Start blaming the bully, then you might get somewhere.
