They also have to honor their commitments

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

They also have to honor their commitments

Postby halil » Fri Sep 04, 2009 10:03 am

Turkish Minister of State – Chief Negotiator with the EU Egemen Bagis said;
"We are ready for a solution. And we may take any step including the opening of our ports but they also have to honor their commitments, which are about removing economic isolation's imposed on the Turkish Cypriot people''

The Turkish Minister also added that the idea of letting Greek Cypriot ships and planes to use Turkish harbors and airports is anything but sincere and credible unless EU countries started direct trade with Turkish Cypriot people and their planes landed on the Ercan Airport.

The Turkish Cypriots can have direct flights and direct trade from the legal ports and airports of Cyprus.

When did EU made any commitment about direct trade and flights from any Ercan or other illegal ports and airports? In your dream maybe?

The expression is:

"you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours"

But I think you're getting it confused with the more appropriate expression:

"kiss my backside"

Yes I understand that but.... look it is TC (turkey) that should be showing some sort of incentivessssss lots of them... they are the ones that took & have held onto something that doesn't belong to them.

I can not get it round my head why should ROC keep giving & not get anything back in return..

what ROC gave ? ROC gets benefits of world which Turkish Cypriots were equal partner of it . TC were kicked out from it since 1963 .

ofcourse TC's can force Turkey not to open the ports for ROC . From opening of the ports isolationes have remove over TC's.

without giving something u can not get anything .

Turkey gives back the north Cyprus to the Cypriots and takes EU. Give and Take. You don't give back our land, you don't get EU.

If TCs are equal partners of RoC then why the RoC constitution says that only a Greek Cypriot can be a president of Cyprus?

Halil, I have a better idea. Turkey should open the ports to Cyprus, charge them double and give half to the TCs.
Now thats what I call economics.
