Two sides should focus on the main game

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Two sides should focus on the main game

The United Nations Secretary General’s Special Adviser on Cyprus Alexander Downer has expressed disappointment over the postponement of today’s meeting between the two leaders who were to launch the second round of the talks.

The UN Envoy said the UN was looking forward to seeing the two leaders getting together as soon as possible and continuing with the negotiations.

He added that the UN did not want to see any further disruptions in the process.

The important thing is that the two sides should focus on the main game, and the main game is to achieve an agreement on the future of Cyprus and that’s what the United Nations wants”, he said.

Expressing the hope that the two leaders would soon meet to resume the second round of the talks, he said “the process through is a difficult process and there will be good days and bad days. And when the situation is tough as it is today, people should keep their minds focus on the long term objective which is a settlement to the Cyprus problem.

Halil Muhtar X is not a very big pehlivan. We have an unfair advantage. We should tie one of Talat’s arms behind his back to make fairer.

UN should take the batteries out. See if that does not stop him.

If Turks cannot be trusted to implement even a small, basic agreement, how can they be trusted to keep the major commitments required by a solution?? Turks have never kept a promise

An RoC President with even a basic sense of dignity should put an end to this humiliation..

- Close all access to the illegally occupied areas
- Discontinue all negotiations until Turkey removes its troops from the RoC and accepts fundamental provisions that secure a solution that respects human rights and international law
- Terminate any discussion re Turkey's accession at EU level (using Veto if required) until the above happens

Then people and countries would start taking him seriously rather than humiliating him (to put it mildly..)

So, why were the people on the bus that were not on the lists. What possible explenation is there other that they were upto no good.

I'd say the TCs were one step ahead of you in that game of cat and mouse and you've been caught with your pants down.

They were journalists out to report on what could have been a nice bit of reconciliation until the fascist "police" set out to break agreements and screw things up.

Come on Bill, you should know better then that. Judging by the comments, the visitors were looking for excuses to turn back. It will all come out in the wash in a few days. Be patient.
