I think that MicATCyp does have a point here. I also think that while in the event of a solution the GCs must be prepared to put 1974 and 30+ years of occupation aside (which makes sense if the solution is to work) at the same time the Turkish side always insists that any solution should be "tailored" to accommodate their concerns which arise from the mid 1960's, even if such "tailoring" violates certain rights for a number of GCs (because they are Greek). This is double standards and this does not make much sense in the context of a "United Republic of Cyprus" (or whatever).

Aha! ...where's YOUR respect to MY opinion?!
I mentioned UN resolutions and ECHR decisions, and these are not just my opinion, they are facts.

The brutal invasion and occupation of my country deserves no respect.
Turkey is the one that owes to respect the human rights of 200.000 Gc refugees, owes to respect and obey UN resolutions, owes to respect and obey ECHR decisions, owes to respect international law.
Well?

I perfectly respect your opinion! I believe that the Turkish action was an intervention to protect TCs rather than an occupation, and I don't mind if you think this is an occupation or invasion!

BUT you have no right to call other peoples' opinions and ideas fart!!!

Do you understand what I mean??

I think you are somebody who does'nt understand the realities:
-First of all your GC brethren have started the troubles with their aim for ENOSIS and their aim to extinguish the TC on the island.
-Secondly Turkey as Guarantor power of the indepence treaties of Cyprus had the right, or lets say, was obliged to guarantee the survival of the TC.
-You have lost the war you have started and now you are complaining about the bill which got presented to you.
And if we are talking about brutality: I think this was a superior characteristic of your murderous Grivas together with his gunmen. I you have any doubt about this just ask your president who was a frontrunner of this gang.
And something for your notebook: Human rights are not only for GC, they must get applied to TC as well.
But that's all snow from yesterday. Since more than thirty years there was no trouble anymore with your GC on the island because you were prevented to continue with your policies!
O.K Madame?

Are all TC's and Turks brainwashed? The irrationality of some of the statements and arguments emanating from them beggars belief. Is there any point in wasting our breaths arguing with these people?

congratulations on seeing the light.

you've been arguing with us for fifty years, and look what happened.
Now try negociating, that is if you want a peaceful resolution.

To be honest, I don't give a shit anymore. I am tired of trying to have reasonable conversations with you people. Its pretty clear that the Turkish nation and all those that are influenced by it have a mentality that is simply alien to most Europeans. There is no logic or reason when it comes to it. That is why Turkey will never be an EU member and that is why Cyprus will be permanently divided. As far as I'm concerned you can sit in the north and rot, because that is what will happen if you continue to insist that Turkey has your own interests at heart and insit on . You will simply become a tiny minority within a much larger majority. If that for you is the lesser of two evils then I genuinely feel sorry for all TC's. They will evenutally become nothing. At least we will be masters of our own destiny, even if we only have half of Cyprus.
