Until 1967 they almost had the support of all GCs including Akel. In 1967 when junta came into power in Greece Makarios and Akel supporters stopped supporting them and Grivas by mediation of US and Turkey was forced to return to Greece with his illegal, 9000+ Greek troops.

In 1971, Grivas "secretly"(supposedly) returned to Cyprus and supposedly, he and his gangs didn't have the support of majority of GCs but majority of illegal NG was under his control. The so-called Makarios administration, besides the other part of illegal GC NG couldn't stop illegal actions of Grivas and his gangs.

Under such circumstances that lasted from 1971 to 1974, u were expecting TCs and Turkey not to collaborate for A and B plans, eh? What a joke!
