Local residents in old Nicosia are fed up with this story. The police had to station 100 Armed Response Units at the mosque to stop the violence for the past 2 nights.

Apprently a group of Shia muslims were travelling up from Limassol to get revenge for the beating they got 4 nights ago.

The police conducts illegal immigrant sweeps nearly every month in old nicosia deporting 100's at a time, most of which are smuggled from the occupied territory.
