The Kokkina and Mamas trips were pre arranged to eliminate the hassles of standard procedures due to the large number of people that would be going through. The idea was to simply supply a list of names of the attendees and hand it to the UN which would then be handed to the other side, which explains why about a month ago hundreds of Turkish Cypriots simply drove through in buses unhindered and went to Kokkina.

I have to admit I’m not surprised that Turkish Cypriots did not keep their side of the agreement once they got their way a month earlier, and it goes to show that Greek Cypriots must NEVER accept any political arrangements with them whatsoever, but insist on a fair and square democracy.
