They would have been on an above-top-secret mission to gather incriminating evidence on the appalling condition of the Church's northern properties, in preparation for the legal battle of the century against Turkey in the European Courts.

The TC authorities would have smelt a rat and demanded to check each pilgrim off against the previously supplied list to weed out any international human rights lawyers.

Naughty naughty. This is what is known as "give em a foot and they'll take a leg"

The European Courts will be deciding who is naughty-naughty in due course. His Beatitude's expert legal representatives – the very best that money can buy – will find other ways to gather the incriminating evidence needed. I'm afraid this is now a holy, legal war, Freddie. The only war free Cypriots are able to wage given the circumstances.

Well, all I can say is that if its war that you guys need, I think you will find the Turks very obliging, no matter what kind of war it is.
Good luck. I mean that.

Yes you did, especially Kickapoo, as he probably is the smelliest TC we have, although there is certain amount of doubt about his TCness but we are not fussy. If you wish to be a TC, you are welcome too.

They will lose a legal war against the Church, Freddie. And lose it very badly when you consider the associated negative PR. Very badly. And they will have no choice but to be obliging.

On behalf of all Cypriots - north and south - thanks. I believe you do mean that.

Why do people think they can cross without showing IDs? they know full well this is the procedure, yet they still try these 1960s tactics to kick up a fuss and draw attention. If you wont show your ID as we do when we pass intot he south then dont come to the TRNC. Anything else is planned provocation.

Because amongst them would have been legal experts, on a mission to gather incriminating evidence about the appalling state of the Church's properties in the north, in preparation for a monumental and high-profile legal case brought by the Archbishop of Cyprus, against Turkey in the European courts.

If IDs had been shown the Turkish authorities would have discovered a number of leading international human rights lawyers amongst the pilgrims, and the cat would have been out the bag.

I am revealing this to you now, in a public forum, as part of a carefully coordinated disinformation campaign.

There is no reason for someone like you to trust any Cypriot who is seeking justice - for it will be secured at your expense.
