Negotiations between President Demetris Christofias and Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat broke off in August, but were scheduled to resume on Thursday morning.

Diplomats hoped the process could move up a gear to heal a conflict harming Turkey's prospects of joining the European Union, and driving a seemingly intractable wedge between Cyprus's Greeks and Turks for more than three decades.

"I met with (UN envoy Alexander) Downer this morning. I expressed the view that the Turkish behaviour inevitably casts a shadow over the scheduled meeting tomorrow... and which under the circumstances is better to be postponed," said George Iacovou, a senior aide to President Demetris Christofias.

A senior aide to Talat said they were checking the report. "We will try to get this information confirmed. As of now we did not have any official request to postpone tomorrow's meeting," aide Ozdil Nami told Reuters.

Earlier, about 550 Greek Cypriot pilgrims scheduled to cross into northern Cyprus turned back on Wednesday, citing delays by Turkish Cypriot authorities in permitting people from crossing over in a bus convoy.

This whole pilgrimage saga reflects very badly on Turkey and the Illegal Muppet Regime by an obviously deliberate, orchestrated and regretfully successful attempt to create bad feeling the day before the resumption of Settlement Talks.

Ask Michalides the priest. He has a lot to tell u abt Iacovu.

Insan, give us the background.

Michalides critisized Iacovu that he misinformed them abt the time, number of busses with passengers and process of passing the checkpoints.

Perhaps there is a different time zone between North and South. Whatever will Turkey do next.

It seems to me that it was a multi-purposed political plot.

In the evening time.500 hundred pilgrims passed the Morphou checkpoints with no problems at all.

How can a "pseudo-state" could function this perfect? Hard to diggest for many GCs, ain't it?)

I am still not getting a clear answer to my question. Were the TCs who crossed for the Kokkina feast asked for individual IDs? Yes or No? Was that procedure part of a deal applyin reciprocity for the Ayios Mamas celebration?

It is likelly that there was a deal at some level and the officious people at the checkpoing fucked up. The resulting huff probably is to demonstrate to Talat that he promises one thing and the people who really control things do another.

The fact that the buses were escorted from the checkpoint to Kokkina is understandable, in the buses might have been mainland Turks who are not allowed to enter Cyprus legally. Rather than check IDs etc the RoC authoritied preferred to enusre that no one would leave the bus before Kokkina. From what I read in the press so far the same deal was to apply for the buses from Pyrgos, they would not stop anywhere else other than the church.

Yes because they are only known by there nick names.

Who were the people on the busses that were not on the lists?
My granny Christallou - the "Slingshot" or the "Chief" ID007

My granny's sister Canou - the "Cannoneer" ID 007 1/2

Her school mate Annou - the "Snowhite" ID 008

Granny Loulou - the "Lurcher" ID 010

Lolou's cousin, granny Maria - the "Bond-ia" 007A

Granny Viryinia - the "Invissible" ID 000

Why were they omitted from the list?
Threat to the enemy due to their participation in WWII

And finally why were they being smuggled in? What was their mission?
Their Mission? ...I cannot tell! Top secret!

As far as I am aware, smuggling of people is illegal in law.
....aaaa does the word "illegal" exist in your vocabulary?

I smell a rat. A big fat juicy rat.
Excuse me, ... but I guess is your frat that you smell.

Well prepared but not that funny. For instance the comment regarding their mission should have been "I can't tell you, otherwise I would have to kill you". - the obvious is not necessary to be mentioned :D

But other wise you are getting into the spirit of how we should behave on the forum. 9 out of 10 for trying, old girl.
