How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

At the very least they should have allowed those people to do the pilgrimage in their own homeland and stop pretending that they own a territory which actually belongs to Republic of Cyprus.

This is yet another criminal action of the foreign invaders who prevented the Cypriot people to move freely in their own country, even for a one day pilgrimage.

I am angry at the cancellation of this pilgrimage, but if Turkey stopped the GC's visiting their churches, how would the Turks benefit from this? It would be shooting themselves in the foot, wouldnt it? I am in no way of supporting Turkeys actions; as far as I am concerned even 'lists' should be unnecessary.

Neither Turkey, nor TCs canceled anyones pilgrimage, Deniz. The ones who didn't want to show their ids couldn't pass the check points. The ones who showed their ids passed the check points and joined the pilgrimage.

Thank you Insan. As I said Ihave not ben following the news; just managed t react to Piratis usual crap. I am glad at least some passed. The GCs should have known what to expect from the 'border guards. Yet, why have a list. Not as if they are going to 'invade' the north.

@Deniz ,

Every one knows what is the regulations how to pass from the gates.

u can pass from the gates by showing your ID's or passport .

for this special day they were agreed there will be list .That every list will show in which minibus u are with your name and ID or passport numbers on it .When the controller comes to your minibus he would check it from the list by looking the lists . for quick pass .......... who ever did not follow the rules not let in .

Same thing applies to me Deniz if i don't show my ID or passport i can not pass to south every time i pass i do show my ID card on the boarder .

This is the situation on the boarders ...as long there is no solution or agreement it will be like this .... god knows what kind of producer will be even after the agreement ... we will see it .

At today ceremony even American ambassador for Nicosia was .... see below link about AYIN.

It is said that it was a measure taken in order to finish the checkpoint procedures as quickly as it could be and lead them to the church as safe as it could be. GC administration informed that 27 busses of GCs would attend the pilgrimage.

A great number of TC police escorted the GC busses for their security.

What was the bus clearing procedure followed when TCs crossed to visit Kokkina a few weeks back?

There was no clearing procedure. They were not allowed to go anywhere else except Gochina and they were escorted. You call that free passage.

One thing is for sure… the Turkish Cypriot Mamas debacle will have more ramifications than the talks themselves!

The idea was to go from A to B and that's exactly what they were allowed to do. What's your excuse?
