I used to work with someone who's grandmother died on a regular basis!

When faced with a school open day (shortly) my son said to me today, just say my grandma died ... generations on, this is the classic excuse and at the age of 12 y.o. he will soon get trapped for using it more than twice!

you wont believe whats happened...
My car went in a ditch after going to the hospital with a broken leg.
I broke my leg as my front door fell off,
got out of the ditch left car behind, got home to discover my dog had pood everywhere, so put him in the garden only to disscover my bloody summer house was on fire.
Thats why i have been so long!!!! honest

For me, no more excuses; I'm superstitious. Last year I called in "sick". Two months later, I was really sick...and I almost never am sick. With my luck, if I tried the broken leg excuse or dead cat excuse, it would rebound on me, too. However, I haven't any grandmothers left, so maybe...
