EPSILON wrote:Alexis, my position is a little different. I consider Hellenism of Cyprus as separate and different from what Greek state is representing today.
Then why not find another word to describe it so that the world doesn't mistakenly consider Cyprus joined to and the same as the modern Greek state? How about "Cyprianism" rather than "Hellenism of Cyprus" - to avoid confusion?
Cyprian: of or relating to the ancient worship of Aphrodite on Cyprus.
Cyprian: a native or inhabitant of Cyprus, especially of ancient Cyprus; a Cypriot.

Good idea. They could assert their own separate identity by calling themselves "Cyprians" rather than "Greeks" - to avoid confusion.

Easily done if we find a word to describe them that makes it clear they're separate - in cooperation with Greece and the rest of Europe, but separate. So the world isn't misled into thinking they still want "enosis" with Greece.
How about "Cyprians". So any citizen of Cyprus is a Cypriot but a person who chooses to identify with your particular ancient heritage is also a "Cyprian", rather than a "Greek of Cyprus", which might confuse ignorant people into thinking they're Greek citizens or still want enosis with modern Greece.

Could they do so as Cyprians?

How about referring to it as Cyprian culture, then?
