TC Eyewitness: 320 GCs massacred

Postby alexISS » Mon Aug 31, 2009 1:33 pm

NICOSIA - Another mass execution of Greek Cypriot POWs by the Turkish army comes to light 35 years after it took place during the Turkish invasion of the island in 1974.

The Turkish Cypriot daily “Afrika” quotes an eye witness, who kept his anonymity, that eight busloads of POWs were bayoneted and hacked to death as they waited to be shipped to Turkey.

The massacre took place towards the end of August 1974 when about 320 Greek Cypriot POWs were driven in buses to the Kyrenia coast to board a ship for their transport to Turkey.

According to the eye witness, as they waited new Turkish recruitments that had just landed attacked them and killed them all using their fixed bayonets or knives.

The eyewitness said the massacred Greek Cypriot may have been buried near the Mare Monte Hotel, not far from where they were killed.

Another devastating blow to hope for those families waiting to hear news of their missing loved ones.

I am amazed these people (Turk-TCs) can have the nerve to present themselves at negotiations and insist on Turkish guarantees for Cyprus!

Prepare for a big shock when the details of what happened in Karpasia in 1974 are revealed. The story will come out in dribs and drabs to lessen the shock of bad PR on Turkey. In Karpasia there was no national guard left to provide any excuse that there was fighting. It was a case of Turkish army versus civilians cut off and helpless. The "best in Nato" showed their true colors between August 16 and the end of September of 1974. Even Ecevit knew of this and tried to prepare the ground by laying the blame on GCs for not accepting the Turkish ultimatum: "we would not have had to proceed with Attila II and kill 4500 people" he had said. IT was not a comment made in passing.

If I was Turkish I would be ashamed. I wouldn't be proud and call myself the voice of the Turkish people. The voice of the Turkish people are mass murderers. Here is an example of the voice of the Turkish people. Turkish Prime Minister Sefker Pasha: “The Turks have decided upon a war of extermination against their Christian subjects.”

Do you still believe Turkey invaded the Greek island of Cyprus to protect the Greek Cyprus from communism?

If Turks were human they would be screaming top of their lungs: TURKS OUT OF THE GREEK ISLAND OF CYPRUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The report is not "hearsay".

It's a first hand, eye-witness account.
