The Turks (and by that I mean people from Turkey - who else?) have renamed everything in the north, except the name "Cyprus/Kibris" itself. (Granted, they delight in taking things, so why not the name?)

However, soon they'll come to their senses, and realise the name of the island itself must be "totally Turkified". What should they go for?

I thought u meant Azeri Turks or Kazakh Turks together with Turkish Cypriots.

Avrupa Birliği (AB) Komisyonu Kıbrıs Türk Çalışma Masası Şefi Andrew Rasbash’ın “KKTC’deki köy isimlerinin çifte isimlendirilmesi” konusunda uzlaşmaya sağlandığını açıkladığı iddia edildi.
Fileleftheros gazetesi haberi, “İşgal Altındaki Köyler İçin Çifte İsimlendirmeyi Kabul Ediyorlar... AB Bildirimleriyle İlgili Rasbash’ın Açıklaması” başlıklarıyla veren gazete, Andrew Rasbash’ın; Avrupa Komisyonu yetkililerinin, KKTC’de bulunan köyler için iki isim kullanılmasını kabul ettiklerini kaydettiğini yazdı.
Gazetenin, “tüzüğün hayata geçirilmesine ilişkin grubun bazı açıklamalarında neden iki isim kullanıldığı” sorusuna karşılık, Rasbash, “Kıbrıs Cumhuriyeti makamları tarafından verilen resmi isimleri kullanıyoruz. Buna ek olarak, şu anda köy sakinleri tarafından kullanılan isimleri de kullanıyoruz” dedi.
