A bit 'calculating' to begin in July 1974. It could lead to accusations of bias.

Could have mentioned the circumstances which lead to the tragic events.

Its odd that GC's do not own up to any blame at all (in the article itself). It is always someone elses fault. :roll:

I don't think so!

The Venetians were getting pestered by the expansionist Ottomans raiding the island and demanding gifts etc ...

Actually they provoked each other as the then 2, biggest imperialist power of the world. At the crossing point, they became 2 rival powers.
