Why doesn't Turkey drop Cyprus?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Q3: Will Greece and Turkey ever abandon Cyprus?
A3: Well duh! Will you ever stop inviting them?

Still don’t get it?

If and when you all STOP from inviting Greece and Turkey over, they won’t come anymore!

What has any of this to do with Turkey being unable to drop the name of Cyprus from their constructs?

Perhaps Unkie GR fails why you ask such a useless and mundane question.

Considering your attempts to come up with an effective answer, were the most useless and mundane, I can only conclude the concepts are beyond your appreciation ...

Or, perhaps you merely wish to downplay the importance of names!

I would say the (forced) resignation by Turkey to continue with the usage of the name Cyprus (which they do not apparently recognise  ) to label their people (Settlers and Turks of ...), or in naming their illegally held territories, merely confirms their impotence towards reaching full expansionism, which was the prime underlying aim behind the invasion and colonisation of Cyprus ...

Kindly post your stupid alternative names on The Cypriot's thread ...

This is not about new names for Cyprus, but the FACT that Turkey cannot change the name of Cyprus because it is a sovereign country and Turkey knows this, despite its protestations to the contrary.

Probably the same reason as to why Turkey has not changed driving on the left to driving on the right in the north. You would think that since the majority in the north are from Right Hand drive country (even though some may have never driven a car before), they would have changed the driving rules by now, which may suggest that Turkey is only on the island until she uses it to get into the EU since 2004 when the RoC became a member and was never serious about having two sovereign states in Cyprus since 1974, so don't expect the name "Cyprus" to be deleated from any title. Poor NeoPartitionist still believe in getting a recognition state in the north when Turkey in the background is preventing it all from ever happening all along.!

I want all the NeoPartitionist to raise their hands and tell me that they have heard Turkey at least once say that they want two sovereign states in Cyprus, other than a Confederation, which would still be one country .!

Anyone.???????

Turks of Cyprus will be easier to expel, since, as the name implies they do not belong there but elsewhere. And they will be free to go once a solution is reached.

I wonder how Europe will feel about a quarter of a million Turks holding Federal Cyprus passports with the right to travel and reside anywhere in the EU.

When every attempt for a peacful and satisfactory to all fail, Turkey and TCs look for recognition for their state and Turkey supports TCs. When international community mediate and convince Turkey to try one more time for a satisfactory to all solution, Turkey and TCs exert one more time but there's no sense of trying one more time if the current talks fail to bring a solution satisfactory to all concerned parties.
