Cyprus signs space agreement

28.AUG.09
A cooperation agreement between Cyprus and the European Space Agency (ESA) was signed in Nicosia on Thursday.

The agreement was signed by Secretary of the Ministry of Communications and Works Makis Constantinides and on behalf of the ESA by Director External Relations Peter Hulsroj.

Communications and Works Minister Nicos Nicolaides said the agreement was a very important development for Cyprus in the sector of science and technology, and especially space technology, insisting that it was "a step forward" and that Cyprus "is present and participates in the course of major scientific and technological quests".

Hulsroj expressed optimism regarding the commencement of cooperation between the Republic of Cyprus and ESA.

Nicolaides said that the five-year agreement establishes the mechanisms and legal framework for facilitating and strengthening cooperation between Cyprus and ESA for "mutually beneficial activities concerning the peaceful use of outer space".

We cannot even get speed cameras to work. I suspect all tickets in a Cypriot space ship would be 'one way' ;-)

It would probably end up illegaly parked in Andromeda, somewhere!

The only space which needs attention is between the ears of most of people in the government.

Why do they waste so much time in pretending that they are in any way important in the real world.

Until they (the government) can attend to the deficiencies in their own island
signing anything to with cooperation agreement between Cyprus and the European Space Agency is nothing more than a joke.

What you talking about Lana?

I'll have you know, that ALL Cypriot Spacecraft will illegally reverse park somewhere near The International Space Station. We promise we won't hit hard, just give it a tiny nudge to make room!

Don't be so harsh on Y-Freak Kikapu! The RoC has been doing all kinds of experiments on him, such as exposing him to radiation etc.

We intend to launch him to outer space and conduct further experiments to see whether zero gravity has an effect on the primates IQ...The RoC will send him where no chimp has been before....

One other thing Kikapu...Y-Fred is not wearing regulation uniform.

This is what he should be wearing:

Nice patchwork, Paphitis.! :D

Now, see if you can patch that hole in YFeak's head that seems to leak out all common sense and intelligence before he turns into a vegetable, a fruit and a basket case.!

Oops, too late. Looks like he has managed to do all of the above at the same time!
