What's happened in abt one month time, in June and Turkey informed Johnson regarding the intention of intervention?

The Greeks must not humiliate the Turks. We should go in and press Makarios as well. When Talbot commented that we had used up most of our leverage with Makarios, the President's reaction was that we should use up whatever was left if necessary.

Foreign Minister Erkin expressed his great appreciation for the President's words and assured him that his message to Inonu would be sent immediately. Ambassador Menemencioglu mentioned that the Turks had a second bit of good news while here—they had been assured by the Department of State that the US would not support any solution which would humiliate Turkey. The President fully agreed.

Children were killed in December, 1963.... :?

The problem seems as "humiliation" of GCs and Greeks towards TCs and Turks, during this period of time...

Humiliation, I said... During the Ottoman rule some group of Ottomans humiliated GCs and Greeks("gavurs", "non-muslims") after the end of Ottoman Rule, some groups of GCs and Greeks began to humliate TCs and Turks... "remnants"/"relics" of "barbarian" Turks...

It sounds like a natural action/reaction situation in perfect correlation with then the circumstances and Turco-Greco relations.

U can't force people to forget the bitter experinces of the past but u can educate them to analyze the essential of the problem behind all the bitter experiences of the past...

However, there r significant number of people on both sides that refuse such and education; they don't even want to hear such speeches trying to show them the essentials of the problem.

Meaningless retaliations folowed by retaliations, as if 2 wrongs was equal to 1 correct.

Still the relations and communications of the majority of 2 communities and Turks and Greeks r based on this illiterate mentality.

There is only one real just solution. Turkey should leave the Greek island of Cyprus. The Turkish settlers must leave with them. If the Islamic Greeks, Turkish Cypriots they could stay if they follow these fair rules:
1, Obey all the laws of Cyprus.
2. Return the homes of Greek Cypriots and pay rent for staying at those home illegally.
3. Swear never to kill or take arms against any Cypriot again.
4. Swear allligetions only to Cyprus and never to Turkey.
5. Respect the Greek Orthodox Church. They don't have to convert but just respect. No graffitti on our churches and return all the icons they destroyed.
6. Respect our dead. Repair all the tombs they destroyed during the illegal occupation.
7, Not to harass any Greek or other citizen.
8. Accept the official language of Cyprus: GREEK
9. No raping of Greek Orthodox women or women in general.
10. Accept full citizenship. Thus fighting in Turkish army is concerned treason.

I feel this is the only just solution for the Greek island of Cyprus. Don't you agree![/list]

No, I don't agree Christine but I'm happy that u gave up using deragotary remarks abt TCs and Turks.

Have u creddible evidence that Cyprus belongs to Greeks? How do u know TCs r muslim Greeks? Aren't there Christian Turks among GCs and Greeks?

Considering your families history and its implication as you've admitted in the mass killings in Famagusta of GC POW's I doubt you will have a place in the new Cyprus as a GC or a TC. Wanted by Interpol for Hague citizenship more likely.

Are you seriously claiming academia and accredited historic sources as not being credible? So according to you, at what point of history did the island exactly cease to be Greek?

The TC's hypocrisy is that whilst you demand the GC’s and RoC renounce its Hellenism, Greek history, yet you persist with your Turkishness in the occupied north eg in the name of your pseudo-state, in your flag and most obviously in the world’s biggest show of territorial pissing

Aren't there Christian Turks among GCs and Greeks?

Was there mass conversions to Christianity by Turkish settlers after the British seized the island in 1878? Now it's your turn to provide a credible source corroborating this claim?
