The World of Tomorrow

It looks like this world we know is progressing rapidly in the field of security and monitoring, which goes far beyond of what we call normal.

I am talking about RFID, Radio Frequency Identification. RFID will probably mean the end of the barcode. It has already been placed in all new passports, ID cards, driving licences and credit cards in the UK. Some people have already gone far enough to have these chips implanted to their hand.

In the future all our products will contain an radio-frequency id chip, and our fridges will read what we have in them. We will self-scan all our products quickly and efficiently in supermarkets. The same goes for passports. RFID is also completely tractable, how will this affect our immediate future.

It won't sound too odd for mothers to be putting these tracking devices into their children, for the sake of security, and in no time babies will be having these at birth.

Some have even called it the mark of the beast, as it's two best places for human implant are on the hand and on the forehead. - http://tinyurl.com/kklufy

The world as we know it will change into a completely monitored system, and there are many angles to see this from, but just in-case you were unaware of this new technology I suppose now you are aware.

They are not much good for continuous tracking of people as they are only detected at very close range unlike mobile phone technology.

Well, that's simple to sort.
You just need numerous, well-placed detectors which feed the whereabouts into a central computer. Not far off what they can do with CCTV, which functions over an even smaller range.

It's the concept of how we are defined as individuals which will need the greatest "detector" ...

There are two types of RFID tags, one with and one without the battery. The one with the battery can transmit a signal up to a mile or more up to low orbiting satellites.

The implanted ones all come with their own source of energy, hence the reasoning behind putting them between the fingers or the forehead, as they are the best areas of the body which can give energy.
