Turkish journalists see north Cyprus as Turkish province

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

"Bas Pezevenk Demirel" This was a header for a Azeri newspaper when Demirel payed a visit to Azerbaijan. Turkish literal meaning is "Head pimp Demirel",where as in Azeri dialect Pezevenk means minister.

"Karabag'da yarrakli saldiri", Turkish meaning "Attack with cock's in Karabag" in azeri dialect "Yarrak" means "firearm" and not "cock".

another funny one is the verb "itmek" which means "to push" in Turkish, but then again in Azeri dialect it means "to fuck".

azeri ordusuna dostluk hesabı bir gün türkiye'den bir embesil giderse, ortalığı şenlendirecek repliklere sahne olacak azeri türkçesinin güzelim örneği .

- yarraaaaaaak , omzaaaa !
....
- askeğrr ! naabıyon ?!
- komtanım omza yetişmese de , uğraşıyoruz işte, şimdilik belime kadar geliyo ama emir demiri keser. yapıcaz bi şekil
- asker senin tımarını sikeyim, sok onu yerine ! yarrak omza !
- ulan yaranamadık şu heriflere ya ... türk komtan da aynı bunlar da ... tamam tamam sokuyorum..

genel itibariyle azerbaycan silahlı kuvvetlerinin azerice karşılığı olarak bilinen hede. oysa ki sanılanın aksine azericede yarrag kelimesi silah anlamına gelmemekte bizde olduğu gibi yarrag anlamına gelmektedir.

bu bilgiyi acı bir tecrübe ile edindim, şöyle ki;

türkiye'ye kurs görmeye gelen bir azeri üsteğmen'e makara olsun diye sorduk, "ay reşad, men sana sorirem, sen azerbaycan yarraglı guvvetlerinden misen?"

aldığımız cevap ise bize ne denli yanıldığımızı gösterdi, " (kaşlarını çatarak) hayır, men azerbaycan siken guvvetlerindenem..."

tabi sonrası türlü çevir kazı yanmasın faaliyetleri. nihayetinde aklımıza aslında türkmencede böle bir husus olduğu geldi de oluşan gergin havayı bir nebze olsun yumuşatabildik.

Your knowledge of Arabic is most impressive, GR!

And you should see how it reads in the original Tamil.

You know, Arabic is one of the four best languages on the planet for vulgarities, profanities, and other unflattering descriptions of people and things, so you may not be all that far off, GR...

О, сколько мудрости на полках вивлиофик! Каких страстей бушует океан! Здесь буков, цвета слабенького кофе, Глотает взглядом жадный книгоман.
