The T/Cs are the only power that will force Turkey out of Cyprus. A statement I have made on numerous occasions .
The embargoes and political " war" must carry on .The T/Cs must see both sides of the coin. Removing or relaxing embargoes while it will benefit the T/Cs it will also cement the foundations of partition and of the "trnc" as ell as get Turkey of the hook.
The RoC must do more of what it preaches in that a strong clear message must be sent to the T/Cs , a message that this island is theirs as well as our and that this island is not what the brainless football supporters , on another threat are claiming.
It is time for brave decisions , many will oppose changes but changes in our outlook must take place if we are to avoid permanent partition and annexation by Turkey of a part of our island.
On this forum there are many true Cypriots , T/Cs such as Deniz , Kikapu , Bir , Cem Umit o7 Iceman and many more. These Cypriots are our compatriots they are not a minority they one of us and we are one of them Cypriots .
Only on this forum we have heard from T/Cs who proudly consider Cyprus their homeland , some that have not been on the forum for some time now , people like young xxNILXX , VURYEK , PASHAS , AHMED from Eastbourne in the UK, and more whose name I forget .
Halil , a T/C also considers Cyprus to be his homeland .

This is a big dilemma. I wonder if there are politicians, GC and TC, with enough political intelligence to understand what is happening. I hope there are, judging by past history the probabilities are that there are none.

Removing the embargoes is a two way street. TC businessmen who want to shake off Turkish controls can do so now but few do so. The TC chamber of commerce has EU approval to grant official documentation to goods originating in northern Cyprus. I am not going to speculate about the reasons, fact is that much more could be exported from the north to the EU.

But the embargoes are not the only hurdle. It seems that something is brewing inside TC society. It is tempting to draw parallels with the process in the GC community in the early 70s when the Enosis dream was busted and all kinds of taboos collapsed. We will see in the next few months.
