yes i agree, recently a woman in the uk who is 59 years of age has fallen pregnant with the help of IVF treatment.
not sure if agree with this.
my dear friend who is 43 has been trying for 6 years with her hubby to have a baby and they both have good medical profession jobs and would bloody great parents, trouble is nothing is happening in the sound of tiny feet department.
the government will not help them with IVF because of her age, this is wrong.
especially when you hear of young girls falling pregnant and they are bloody too young and clueless with what parenthood is all about.
personally i think the gov should help because for what reason are they saying 43 is too old when a lady of 59 has fallen pregnant? confusing f****d up world we live in today

In vitro fertilisation. To you a test tube baby. Or a petri dish in which an egg from a donor female is fertilised by a mans sperm. After fertilisation it is transplanted into a uterus where hopefully a little life will form and reach full term.

well my friend is allowed to have IVF treatment but they will have to pay alot of money for it, something very silly like £20.000 as the treatment might not work the first time and very well take many attempts.
the 59 year old did oay for hers and she fell pregnant.
My argument is what is the reason for my friend and her husband as to why they cant, they say its her age...43 is too old to have a IVF and have a baby, baring in mind they have beeen trying desperatly to have a baby!!
but if this age is too old then whay the bloody hell is it okay for the 59 year old to have a baby!!
okay the 59 paid for it but its besides the point.
it seems very unfair to me

If its the only way they will have a child it might be worth it?

59 years old seems very old to be having a child. the mother will most likely die before the child reaches his or her teens maybe 19? but definatly at a young age which will be very hard for the child.

agreed it does seem very unfair to me also. what do they say is the maximum age they will accept?

its 30 something.
the thing is they were allowed to have IVF on the NHS when they first started trying for a baby, but they were not to know it would take so long! shame really.

I am all for advances in science, otherwise where would we be? But then I think there is too much tampering with nature. Then all this happens. a ten year old child deprived of a mother at ten because she is too old to cope and dies. Where are family values. OK. I am old fashioned. Damn it.
