What I admire most about the late Senator is that he wasn't impressed with himself, unlike many other politicians of his status. More importantly, he didn't fall prey to the politics of self-glorification. Rather, for him, politics always remained a means by which to better society. The Mary-Jo Kopechney incident was a tragedy that indeed tarnished his credibility, but at the same time, his efforts on behalf of the American public, e.g. education, health care, civil rights, immigration, should not be discounted.

You're obviously of the same ilk and would behave just as cowardly as he did when he left that young woman to drown in the car he crashed; typical IRA supporter, no morals, no ethics and no guts.

thats your opinion, which i respect but like i said before knowing some of both nations history the IRA and EOKA were both formed to counter oppression and colonialism....and if Ted Kennedy was such a coward like you say, he did some great things for workers rights and health care and also served in the Senate for 46 years....He wasnt convicted for Chappaquidick, because it was ruled an accident, although the man had faults they do not place him in the category of coward....

Come on, Cowboy - Kennedy was a coward! What else can you call pond scum that swims to shore and leaves a young woman stranded. and then takes several hours to call in the police. He'd never have got off, had it not been for his family name. If he'd been merely "Edward Moore" rather than "Edward Moore Kennedy", he'd have died in prison.

I agree. Haven't u yet understood that Wyoming C admires T Kennedy a lot just because he was a philhellene?
