You would have got a better response by requesting the info politely rather than insulting and attempting to demean. He wasn't asking you for employment but for some information which you are qualified to give.
Your latest response shows what a wonderful employer you must be. I guess "Beatings will stop when morale improves" must head up your policies.
When somebody is asking about something they should give all relevant information, as a qualified and experienced IT person he should know that.
I never had to beat any of my staff, but that was because I always employed the right people for the job.
