Church to take on Turkey - at last!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Church to take on Turkey - at last!

At last the Church enlists God's help... What took them so long do you think?

ARCHBISHOP Chrysostomos said yesterday that next month, the Church of Cyprus would resort to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) to report Turkey for violation of its rights and usurpation of its property in north.

“The Church has waited for 35 years and I think they are too many”, he said.

“Next month we will appeal to the European Court of Human Rights for a triple lawsuit against Turkey”.

The Archbishop said Turkey “does not allow us to go to our places of worship, does not allow us to maintain our churches and does not allow us to use our property”.

“It is a triple application and our legal advisors are ready. With God’s help next month we will file the application”, he said.

So one evil dogma takes on another evil nation.

In that case, I will have to support the one that is the lesser evil! :D

Whilst the Devil (aka Turkey) exists, the Greek Orthodox Church is there to exorcise it! :)

I think the GO Church has been very patient waiting for Turkey to see the light towards behaving appropriately, and it has failed ... So the Church is quite right to illuminate them, now, with Mortal Justice.

We should give 100% support, in this quest, to our traditional historians and preservers of our culture.

Well, I suppose they have to be good for something....

But how can one evil exorcise another evil? Maybe they might combine forces, as they did in 1571! :?

You need to focus on the facts Paphitis.

Here the GO Church is just acting as any individual would be entitled to act. Taking Turkey to Court for Human Rights abuses for example to gain access to their property... Surely, we support anyone who does this, irrespective of their personal beliefs ...

As one who has no beliefs in the supernatural , I nevertheless fully support any action by any group of Cypriots who are demanding their properties be returned and their places of worship respected .
The T/Cs have the same rights to their properties and their Mosques in the RoC .
