I can see why Facebook is popular but I had the same experience as Linichka... I joined after calls from friends to join but found it too false. I closed my Facebook account 20 minutes after opening it. Emma is right, I have made some very good friends from internet beginnings but I vett carefully. It always amazes me when people say they check Facebook every half an hour, daily! Who has that amount of time to play with Facebook?

As much I admire use of such apps (I have the Facebook app on my iPhone too), I guess I am too busy working to be "face-booking" or "twittering".... that hasn't stopped me networking, online or otherwise. Whatever works for each individual is fine....

will it ever replace the need for face-to-face contact? I don't think it can substitute for eye contact, reading body language and facial expression when communicating..... text/facebook/twitter are all almost emotionless forms of conversation... I prefer reality to virtuality myself

Hey Smowjoe

Don't think text/facebook/twitter would be of much use in your hot tub would they?

I lasted longer than you - two hours was enough though. My son posted some old photos of me and all his mates piled in with "clever" remarks, my inbox was stuffed, I resigned and got my life back.

Facebook - what a load of cock!
