STRIKE AT ERCAN AIRPORT

Postby halil » Sat Aug 22, 2009 5:48 pm

Cyprus Turkish Airlines Flights have been disrupted following an ongoing strike at Ercan Airport by the Cyprus Turkish Civil Aviation Workers’ Trade Union-UC Sen.

The trade union started its action at 1 am this morning on grounds that a protocol for the end-of-year 13th pay wage was not signed with them.

The strike action will end at 12 midnight tonight.

Speaking to the BRT, the President of the Cyprus Turkish Civil Aviation Workers’ Trade Union Tamer Azizoglu said that the 13th month wages due for June had not been paid.

He said that the trade union had conducted talks in good will to solve the problem but that they had failed to receive an assurance in that direction.

Pointing out that the union had met with the company’s board of directors demanding a protocol guaranteeing the payment of the wage to be signed; the UC-Sen President said that they had decided to go on strike after their demands had not been met.

Reminding that all CTA staff for the exception of flight personnel was members of UC-Sen, Azizoglu said that all members were taking part in the strike and that most CTA flights would be disrupted today.

Also commenting on today’s strike action, the Minister of Public Works and Communication Hasan Tacoy said that 13th month wages will only be paid if the necessary financial resources are found.

Thieves striking because other thieves won't pay them more for working in illegal airports, flying illegally and living in illegally held stolen property ...

Just an average day in the illegal Turkish troops and illegal migrants camp; otherwise known as Turkish occupied Cyprus.....

Thanks for sharing, halil

There is absolutely nothing democratic with ethnically cleansing the vast majority of the native people, replacing them with foreigners, and ruling a territory which does not belong to you in the absence of the majority of the native people.

The fact is that the vast majority of the people whose homeland you illegaly occupy never democratically choose to have any "trnc" or any "Ercan Airport" on their land. This was imposed on our land by the invading Turkish troops, which is why this monstrosity which you call "trnc" is declared as legally invalid by the UN.

Mind your own business Pirates ....... with those well knowing rubbish words of u and your CO's you can end up with nothing .... since 1963 .... we the Turkish Cypriots had our own adminstration and govern system even we were in enclaves . There is a ERCAN and there is a our own govern system if u like it or not like it .

Do not play with the words always as u do all the time .... there was a seperated Turkish Cypriot system in Cyprus since 1963 ... seperated worker unions , schools ... etc... etc .... we had strikes before 1974 and to day we do it again .... it is our democratic rights and we can do it when it is necessary .... who cares what UN said or says ... where were the UN in 1963 while our people were force to live in the tents .... in the fields of the Hamitmandrez or other part of the Cyprus .... In very hard conditiones our people worked very hard to get their living ..... wher were the those democratic Countries or UN Pirates ....
U ... the ones trying to add politics in everything Pirates .... who cares about what u or others are thinking .... we are here and we will be here forever... If u ready to share this island with us with politicaly equal partners ... it will work Pirates .... if u dont it will go like as it is today ....do not worry pirates we are very happy living without your fear .
we are much much better than what we were in 1963-1974. We are strugling to make it better ... which is our rights to want more and better working conditions we are not going to ask u or others .
we can not collapse Pirates ....

Actually Halil the 13th salary is implemented in 90% of businesses over here. However I heard that most firms over there simply get the annual salary they should pay and divide it by 13 instead of 12 thus getting the 13th salary 8)

The land you stole from us is much more my business than it is yours.

And what 1963 are you talking about? Are you talking about the conflict which you started in 1958 by attacking us, when you first created your plan of annihilating the vast majority of Cypriots from the north part of our island and stealing our land?

In here I am talking about civil servant wages not the private firms .

In my work we do get extra compensation money every month as well for working under the radio frequency ...which we do get 14th wages per year. How we got them ... we got them with our union hard working and bargaining with our bosses.
42 days off per year . free hospital treatment and medicine.
