YAGA is allocating land in occupied Kazivera village

Turkish Cypriot daily Afrika newspaper (19.08.09) reports that the Cyprus Turkish Investment Development Agency (YAGA) has announced that it will allocate 69 donums [Tr. Note: A land measure of 1000 square meters] of land in occupied Kazivera village for 49 years in order to be used for tourism purposes. According to the announcement of YAGA, it will be accepting applications until 16 October 2009 for this land which is near the sea.

They are smart not to spend their own money to develop it for the tourist, so they are bidding out other idiots to invest their money to lose, hence the 49 year lease, I assume..!

I am no legal eagle, but this sounds like protection for EU Citizens from GC court action. :wink:

No it is not. The action is brought against anyone using or converting the property to their use, so the actual occupiers will always be open to action regardless of lease or freehold etc. Same applies to all persons, natural or legal, involved in the project, ie architects, fitters etc.
