It does not matter whether GCs negotiate with Turks or TCs because there still will be the Cyprus problem exist. Be it TCs or Turks in Cyprus, Turkish solution thesis regarding Cyprus will have stay the same and let's say TRNC becomes all Turkish; Turkey still would have to exert to solve the problem as one of her duties towards the alliance she is a part of... As all other concerned parties; Turks and TCs will have an eye on their own interests as a nation.

There r some cultural and dialectical differences between Turks of Turkey and TCs, it's true but there r similar differences between Turks of different regions of Turkey too and also Turks of other independent Turkish states.

Had TRNC been completely pure TCs, still there would have been nothing changed regarding the solution of Cyprus problem. Turkey supports TCs more than Greece support GCs because of some very well known disadvantages of TCs.

In the end, overwhelming majority of TCs consider themselves as part of Turkish nation.

There is not a Cyprus problem. Never was such a problem- problem is just the Turks in Cyprus.

"In the end, overwhelming majority of TCs consider themselves as part of Turkish nation."

Does this mean that you do not want to be partners in Cyprus? If not what is the puprose of the talks?

It does not mean what u supposed... People of 2 nations can build a partnership state in Cyprus, based on political equality of 2 communities... however it is too hard for these 2 communities to run such a state as long as interest conflicts exist between Turks and Greeks. First of all Turks and Greeks should strengthen and intense their relations to get o consensus on some common interests in our region.

Turco-Phobia and Islamo-Phobia have a lot to do with these issues.... More than a partnership state in Cyprus and peace in the world, I anticipate more chaos, terror, economic crisis and a 3rd world war in near future...

What for? There is no need for such complications…

Nobody here is interested in “deals” with Turkey (masqueraded as “Turks of Cyprus”)!

Nothing lasts forever Insan, and just as the problem appeared it can also be made to disappear at the right price and at the right time.

Absolutely right! One problem ends others begin... So the problems persist... Why? Conflict of interests...

The Ottoman remnants of Cyprus have made their choices and they will now dissolve into the vast Turkish nation as their majority wishes, and as for us Cypriots… we live to fight another day and our struggle continues to liberate our island.

It’s nothing new for us Insan, our history has been repeating itself for the last 2,000 odd years but we’re hoping this time will be the last of our foreign adversaries… we shall see.

Under the title “15 thousand citizens!” Turkish Cypriot daily Kibrisli newspaper (19.08.09) reports that the self-styled Eroglu government will give the “citizenship” of the breakaway regime to 15 thousand persons within the next two months. Citing information from reliable sources, the paper notes that the new “citizens” will be selected among professions and persons whom the society needs and their main duty will be to decrease the influence of the struggle of the trade unions. Observers say that these new “citizens” will play a decisive role in the result of the “elections” next year.

“It is said that this decision taken by the government together with experts from the Justice and Development Party (AKP) will further escalate the struggle of the trade unions and increase the social tension bringing it to the point of explosion”, argues Kibrisli.
