But i understand, it is difficult for you to catch the meaning of that democratic approach to the problem while you were got used to the Heider style... :D

The only one who is upset is you because your countrymen have been shown time and time again to overreact whenever their beloved, worshiped Ataturk is referred to as a mere mortal. Your government has banned YouTube quite a few times, each time admittedly defeated by changing technology ... although I hear they are still trying to find a way, but I cannot vouch for their abilities. They banned Dawkins' site and there were a number of Turks registering by various means to continue to access and post their distress ... you may have missed all that

Whatever the technology which defeats them, the fact remains, Turkey is constantly banning anything which they deem insulting to Ataturk and now we even have a facebook site started up (by Turks as devoted as you no doubt) to call for this idiot tourist to be hanged ... and that doesn't need much technology!

No, I am afraid it is you who has tried to deny what was manifestly true ... by sidetracking to irrelevancies. Carry on worshipping Ataturk and condemning to death all those who try to open your eyes ...

I personally think he should be hanged - that would send a very clear message to all the other shithead chavs and their tarts not to piss about while visiting another culture abroad.
It certainly wouldnt happen in the ROC though - although the other week some people shouted out that the President was a traitor and were arrested, i think they may even have been charged!
But the EU is also keeping an eye on its subjects not just turkey - from April this year every country in the EU has had to keep a record of the telehone numbers from which calls are made and the numbers to which the call was made to, also the same with e - mails, as an "anti terrorist" stratergy - just the numbers, but whats the betting they can obtain the contents of either if they really wanted?
they also have the monitor web sites that incite racial hatred or inolerance..
you have been warned - big EU is watching you

I think we are extremely tolerant on this forum considering we have to deal with people (Turks) who taunt us constantly about the illegal invasion and occupation of nearly half our country ... and since most of us GCs have been at the receiving end of Turkey's bombs at least once in our lifetime; then it should be us demanding explanations and keeping an eye on the antics of any such bully-boys.

As for your lily-livered concerns, BOF, then I just have this to add:

Those who value security above freedom deserve neither and will lose both!

Drunken tourists who defile anything in the host country should face the full force of the law, and if that country happens to be Turkey and the idiot facing a Midnight Express… tough titties!

Yes, but you had closure. For you, freedom to move around your own country was never compromised!

I cannot understand your obsession with Mustafa Kemal. If people want to look up to him so let it be. Not sure of the numbers but Catholics look up to the pope as some holy whatever. He is only a mortal too. If people wish to worship a goddess with multiple arms, so be it.

Dont use the asshole (tourist) for your only aim at mocking someone who will idolise M.K. ATATURK.

Use your intellect to further peace or the benefit of mankind.

Both were wrong Deniz ... the tourist for behaving in such a way and the fanatics who revere Ataturk and his legacy of statues so much, that a simple appropriate caution does not satisfy their blood-lust but they want to call for his hanging!

As far as peace goes; it is the constant reminder of these absurdities, and in the wider context where you quoted me in reply to BOF alluding to the continuing occupation by Turkey of nearly half my country curtailing freedom at the very least and gross violations of peoples' Human Rights, which must never be allowed to be forgotten so that evil perpetrators, such as the Turks, cannot continue in their insidious campaign to destroy our civilisation!

Use your intellect Deniz, and stop jumping to the defence of Turkey or trying to silence anyone who reminds others of the continuing occupation!
