I wonder what our reaction would be if such an event occurred in Cyprus , lets say with the statue of Makarios on the receiving end !!

Youtube was banned by Turkey on several occasions (akiner is just desperately fighting a jihad for Ataturk).

Here's one time ...

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/w ... 483840.ece

Then again ...

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/01/2 ... 82406.html

They also banned access to a British scientific website ...

State just cancels the service of Domain Name Server for the site youtube, it is a great idea of protesting in this new internet era, as addition Turkey like any other country has no obligations to give DNS service for any websites... As an individual you can use IP addresses of the site or any other DNS services to reach the site... To summarize for your level of IQ there was/is no bans for any sites in Turkey

If you want talk about ban for internet sites you have to do it through IP addresses, that sounds like the way for Democratic Eu contries should love to apply when we consider how they dealed with Heider in Austria :D

Dear Oracle and pity palioximoron, you both better get educated before having ideas about an issue you have no clues... That way i dont have to waste my time to enlighten the desperate and hateful ones like you in this tiny so called political forum...

Yes thank you akiner ... I think that may have been the reason the stupid Turks realised those bans were not going to work long term, and they tried a number of different approaches, each effective long enough for many Turks to get distressed and look for alternatives ... and then the stupid Turkish government had to admit defeat!

However the important take-home message is that Turkey tries to impose freedom of speech restrains ... the fact it fails long term (and then resorts to shooting someone dead to silence them) is a technical matter!

Please kindly note, it's your stupid government which banned YouTube (successfully) for several months quite a few times ... we had tessinshit complaining on the forum because she couldn't access YouTube in the "trnc" and kept getting the standard Turkish government ban message.

The fact that technology moved on and they could not sustain such a ban is neither here nor there as far as Turkey's extremist attitudes to preserving Ataturk's "face" ... And the more you go on digging into the stupidity of the Turkish government's actions the more you prove what a fanatical Ataturk-jihad follower you wannabe ...

I dont want to make you upset my dear but you will get the same governmental information message, if you use state owned DNS servers..! and you dont know what DNS stands for, do you?
But i understand, it is difficult for you to catch the meaning of that democratic approach to the problem while you were got used to the Heider style... :D
