Next year there will be even less tourists and even less houses sold so what will fill the gaping hole in the in the government revenue then?

Are you all going to start blaming the English then I wonder?

Varosha ghost-town

Postby cymart » Tue Aug 18, 2009 11:03 pm

You can visit the return to Varosha site on flickr.com for a lot of information but have no chance of getting into the closed area unless you are in the Turkish Army or the Slovak U.N. contingent in Cyprus...or are drunk enough to brave climbing the fence in a quiet area when there is nobody around, preferably in the dark, but you will probably get caught or maybe bitten by a snake or rat,or one of the dogs which some of the Turkish soldiers have for company... safer to view it on Google earth!

Like I said up there, I have been in there lots of times, I am not a soldier and I did not have to pull any "crazy stunts" either, I just show my ID and walk in.

Sorry to blow all your urban legends regarding the place
