As far as Varosha is concerned,Turkey is deliberately keeping it empty to bargain with in the negotiations.Very soon this game will end one way or another but in the worst scenario I cannot see Turkey coming up with the funds to repair the damage they have done to it themselves if they do not give it back.....

It was always there to be given back. It had please “come and take me” written all over it. The fact that it hasn't been, shows the political impotence of the GC politicians.

It will be given back because it is the trap for the goose that lays golden eggs.

It is a simple scheme- it is given back to the GCs who have to rebuild it since it uninhabitable as is. The funding will come from GC banks lending the owners. The work will be by TC contractor since there is not enough labor to rebuild it in the south alone. And there we have a miracle of modern politics cum finance: the victims pay for their own damage, with interest, and the whole venture is profitable to all, including the wrong doer.

There is one slight catch- EU rules mandate that public works MUST be open to tender to companies domiciled in the EU. And it will be fun to watch as consortiums of Poles, Checs, Hungarians and others claim a right to bid for the project. It will be alaugh for sure.

In the case of Famagusta the public works are a huge project- since the whole infrastructure of the town must be rebuilt from scratch and be subject to EU regulations, ie biological sewage treatment plants etc. Now get your calculator and figure out the costs for the roads, pavement, drains, electricity grid, waterworks, sewage, telephone lines, and you have a BIG BILL. The nominal value mentioned by economists is 5 billion Euro. There has never been a project like this anywhere in the Mediterranean.

What happens to anyone’s property and in any country of the world, when they die?

Let’s see you start using your head…

Judging by the speed at which the RoC Land Registry office works, about 10 thousand years I'd say.
