Can somebody help an old lady cross the road ...

Postby Oracle » Tue Aug 18, 2009 12:24 pm

... metaphorically speaking of course! :D

But, I do need help from someone with a little more word processing capability then me.

I want to capture the image and text on a web-page as they actually appear, and copy it into a MS Office Word document so that it is visible as seen on the actual web-page ...

How do I do that, please?

Try file save as webpage in your explorer.
Then open webpage in word. (Html document)

Never done it before but it worked when I tried this web page.

Brilliant so far danky ... thanks! :D

But!

Now I have it saved as a document, how do I copy it into my working document, as a diagram for example?

Insert>>> Picture>>>from file?

Or you can capyure the entire screen shot (using the Print screen button) then Ctrl+V to paste it directly into your Word document.

Open the web page you wish to copy.

THEN, hit the PRINT SCREEN Button.

Go to Programs / Accessories and then OPEN PAINT

Then in PAINT, go to FILE and then hit PASTE.
(the web-page will now be pasted exactly as seen on the web)

Then go to File / Save AS.

Save the PAINT File in JPEG format, and give the file a name. You can save the file on your desktop or on your C Drive(its up to you).

Then open your Microsoft Word Document.

In Microsoft Word, go to INSERT / Picture.

Then locate your PAINT file and click on it. Then hit INSERT.

The web-page will then be on your WORD file.

Also if you press CTRL + ALT + PRINT SCREEN, it will only capture the the window that you are on, rather than the entire screen with all sorts of other junk in it.

It is neater and saves you from having to crop parts of the image :D

Also which part was the metaphor, the "road crossing" or the "old lady"?

Or just print screen >>>> Ctrl+V to whack it into your Word document then click on the picture and use Word's picture editing tools to crop it... :P

Spoilt for choice now eh?
