Oh so you sold GC "land because it was needed" ?.... If you needed the land, why did you sell it?
I'll tell you why you say that ... Because you know you did not need the land, being in vast excess for anyone's needs, having being stolen from many times more GCs than the TCs who illegally occupy it, could posiibly need.

You sold it because you wanted the (quick easy) money and to stop GCs ever having their land back!

As for your second clause; we GCs "used TC land because" it was needed ... Land isn't gone, possibly forever, when it is being used because it is needed ... unlike being sold to foreigners.

If you don't understand the difference you have no right to automatically expect to help run our country!

Excuse me, all people work and make money, some do it very easy others do it by working a lot more, some earn a lot and others don't, its just the way it is.

The land was sold to make money, it is as simple as that!

If you take all the options away from the people, which they would need to make a living in "conventional" ways, because of the war and the isolation's that followed, they are not just going to give up living are they?

What do you suggest they do to earn a living?

It is not a rhetorical question Oracle, I really would like to know what you would do?

Also sold land is not exactly "gone" is it Oracle, what are they going to do, fly back to the UK with your land?!

Let me give you an example, we are all farmers, for generations that's how we made our living, we used to be one of the biggest merchants on this island and many of our customers were also GC while we sold most of our goods to the UK, export was our main source and was very lucrative.

Now, since the conflict we have completely stopped, most of the time our farms cannot even generate enough revenue to prepare for the next season let alone making any profit, we literally give it away for free and not even Turkey would buy!

If a few members of my family had not managed to escape during the conflict, that might have been our only source of income which is now literally in a coma.

So, if that was the case, I too might be selling your property today dear Oracle, I really do not care, because I have no where to go other than Turkey, no job and no money, capisch?

What is really annoying is thinking about loosing all because of what, because racists like you wanted to declare this place Greek?!

Are the users of GC property in the north not already subject to EAW, as the RoC law allows up to 7 years in prison for the offence, this was raised from 2 in order to meet the standards for the pre-Schengen Information II EAW.

This leads me to wonder why the law is not being enforced in the RoC, given the number of TCs and Expats that cross on a regular basis?

You created the conditions for people to chose illegal ways for making money, are you surprised?

Was the TC land the only location you can build ANOTHER airport on, or was it just convenient?

Why waste GC land when you can use the TC ones right?

Plus why do you care so much about the Brits buying your land?

When you return you will just kick them out, bulldoze down their villa and voila, it's all yours.

They are the idiots for buying it...

In 1975 an old airfield in Larnaca which was used by the RAF in the 1930s was the only airfield left in territory which wasn’t occupied by the Turks to become the new airport which opened in February of that year.
Limassol port took over the shipping from Famagusta and Nicosia airport was giving to the UN on the condition that it would be returned once a solution comes. For now it sits in the buffer zone and remains closed to this day.

You did not have to sell GC land, you only had to ask Turkey for a bigger subsidy. Follow the logic, it was Turkey that made you sell our land!

When will you GC boys get it into your heads that Turkey does not subsidise TRNC, only the Civil Service. The ordinary folks have to earn their living. Come on, thats play the white man, for god sake.
So long as the legalised illegalities exist, TCs reserve the right to survive. It’s called Natural Law. The rest of the laws are superseded.

Fred you have a poor grasp of economics. As I understand it your "civil service" is grossly overstaffed and overpaid, that is the means by which Turkey subsides your economy.

See what I posted yesterday at 12.28 from Frank's blog.

TRNC is not the civil service. There are plenty of people who do not work for the civil service and never receive a penny from Turkey. Back to your economics book page 1 chapter 1.

You make a big assumption there, mainly that the legal government in the south is obliged to behave in a legal way. They wouldn’t know what it means.

Their understanding of "legality" goes as far as forcing people to use their "legal" port that is built on illegal lands

No Fred, you don't understand. If you pay too many people too much money for doing almost nothing then that money filters through the economy into other pockets, you could call it subsidy by "stealth". I understand that about half of the workforce in the north is employed by the government, this is not normal - unless you have a communist regime of course.

Says the man who lives in the UK, do you feel extinct Miltiades?

Also tell me this, are you claiming that the RoC, who blames us for using GC land illegally, is not using any TC property illegally her self at the moment?

Shah you must understand, that they have legalised all illegalities as far as TCs are concerned.
I suspect that if a TC is killed on the south, they would get away with it in an RoC court on the grounds that as it was against a TC that it cannot be deemed to be illegal act.
