Is the timing of this release an attempt to persuade that the north is doing quite nicely without direct trade? Thus heading off any attempts by Satan -sorry the UK - to implement direct flights?

These figures look a bit skewed. The British High Commission estimates that 2,800 Brits live in the north not 10,000.

Also, 5,000 properties sold per year to foreigners is wildly off the mark.
