slingbox slingcatcher watch uk tv in cyp no monthly payments

i have been advised about a newish product that is apparently sweeping the uk at the moment, its called slingbox and slingcatcher, and together they can be set up in the uk through your internet, and it allows you to access it through your internet here, and remotely use your sky satelite, freeview, dvd player. you can hook up to 4 different devices and view them in cyprus, through your tv with a remote control, just like having sky multiroom at home.
just google slingbox and see for yourself.
the uk slingbox comes with all the uk freeview channels already installed.

no more satelite not working at night time.

This has been around for 18 months to 2 years. You need high bandwidth internet connections both in Cyprus and the UK. When your service providers see how much of there bandwidth you are taking up, one of the little clauses in the contract you signed will be brought out and you will be told to limit your usage or be charged for downloads above a certain amount per month.

I have had a slingbox and slingcatcher for about 6 months, and am very pleased with them. Picture quality is not perfect, as the upload available in the UK is only 250k where my slingbox is located, but it works ok even at 200kbps streaming. It does not use that much bandwidth, unless you have a great connection in the UK. I have seen one working on a 1.5Mbps upload link, and the picture quality is near perfect.

For the cost, and especially for a holiday home they are unbeatable.

could i ask cbbb who is your isp here in cyprus, ? and did they stop you using their service or give you a figure on how much you can use, and what whas their prices for going over the bandwith downloads?
also what is your download speed, and did you get a good reception?
could you take a guess as to the amount of download bandwidth you take up per day, measured in tv hours?
thank you.

I have a 20mb/s in the UK and a 10mb/s in Cyprus. Do you think this is enough?
