Visiting Cyprus in August. What is the best city to stay?

Postby Susanna » Wed Jun 29, 2005 5:40 pm

My husband and I will be visiting South Cyprus in August for just a week. We are looking into booking a hotel, but we would like it to be at a walking distance to restaurants, beaches, museums, ... Can anyone recommend the best place to stay? Efharisto!

Paphos is probably the one that combines all of ur requirements. Nice archaelogical spots, nice beaches, and offcourse lots of restaurants. Hope u have a nice holiday in Cyprus.

Agree with Yianni, Paphos is probably the best bet for you. You mentioned museums so it shows you're interested in culture (at last someone who doesn't just want clubbing advice! :D )

έχετε θαυμάσιες διακοπές!

Think I got that right...

U should say:

"Σου εύχωμαι να έχεις θαυμάσιες διακοπές"
"I wish u have a nice holiday"

But still not bad for an englishman :)

The other line is like just saying "You are having a nice holiday" which doesnt really make much sense in greek.

Thank you Yiannis and Cannedmoose for your quick replies. First time I ever use a Forum, and I am nicely surprised by it! I definitely think we will book the hotel in Paphos. I met a few guys from Cyprus back in School ... ehem ... 12 years ago ... but I remember we got along very welll, very friendly people! I look forward to the holidays! THANKS AGAIN.
