Cashpoint Machines in Paphos/Tala

Postby AnnDaley7 » Mon Aug 17, 2009 10:56 am

Good Morning

We are off to Cyprus on Sunday and were told just last night that there are no cashpoint machines in Paphos which accept british debit/credit cards. Can this be true? If anyone knows of any can you let me know please. We will be using our Nationwide FlexAccount Card (or Lloyds TSB if necessary). I can't believe that anyone going to Paphos these days has to carry all cash. Please help!

It's not that simple anymore.

Recently, cash cards have been disabled, by default, for use in foreign countries to prevent fraud.

You MUST inform your bank before you travel and it takes 24 hours to activate, but banks usually do it within an hour during business hours.

The people who told you this probably fell foul of this just as I did to at a recent trip in europe, but fortunately my bank activated it within an hour of me telephoning them - phewww!
