Always thought it bollocks, too, for myself. But it does seem that many women go around the bend as the countdown to menopause gets nearer. I have two friends who didn't have children until in their 40s. Can't imagine how they'll be up to dealing with teenagers when they're 50+!

Men have biological clocks too ...

But the pressure to procreate is as much from society as from hormones.

i would say having kids is allright thing to do if im fat, ugly or old so i would have nothing to lose.. but i do not seriously understand why would any girl want a baby! most of the girls i know wants a "child of love" complete stupid cause relationships doesnt really last ! love.. bollocks.. it doesnt work that way, you have to be ready to have a baby not because you love your partner!!! and gosh ewww i cant ever see my self getting pregnant. thats suck.. i like my self the way i am.. with no baby or no body fats!!! and its bollocks why would women get a biological clock teckin and men dont!! only women wants kids then!!

Well, Emma dear, better look into having a tubal ligation like I did when I was around your age. Facing at least a quarter of a century of having to fiddle with contraceptives is daunting.

That's what people keep saying about my 70 year old granddad. :-p

@emma ruby

In the world we once knew, people of your age were having children and plenty of them. My mother at your age had 3 kids, at your age. My grandmother had 2 kids. My great grandmother had 4 kids. Having said this I do not feel you are too young to have a child if you wish to have one.

Personally if I had a choice I would gladly have a child now, as children are our life.

One word of advise, make sure you love your man, if this is the case marry him, and then have children. It might be worth waiting at least a year or so until you start having children, just to be sure he is the right man for you. So the problem is not having the children, but finding the man to have the children with.

But the pressure to procreate is as much from society as from hormones.

Society discourage pro-creation. In a world were people can have abortions, contreceptions, pornography, and risk free sexual encounters, you can hardly say it encourages pro-creation. I advise you to look at the birth rate statistics, and you will notice that people in the modern world stopped having as many children, please look at this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_population , and notice how the European population is shrinking and going to continue shrinking.

Society encourages SEX not procreation, there is a clear difference.

only women wants kids then!!

All decent men want kids, and the ones that don't are not worth dealing with. Their intentions are similar to your intentions, anyway, if you settle down and your man does not want kids, you can always trick him. :)

Ah, no, Sega - "trick him"?! Hardly a means of ensuring a baby will have a doting father.

Anyway, what our super super star is apparently saying is that she doesn't want kids.
