The Initiative for Scientific and Democratic Education staged a demonstration in front of the Turkish Embassy this morning to protest religious summer courses at schools.
The initiative’s action was supported by the Cyprus Turkish Teachers’ Union, the New Cyprus Party, the United Cyprus Party, the Cyprus Socialist Party, the Baraka Culture Center as well as the Cyprus Youth Platform.
The group gathered at the Kugulu Park in North Nicosia before marching to the Turkish Embassy.
There a press statement was read out protesting the holding of such courses.
