At some point, I had to go to the loo, and mistakenly entered an Office. The exact same map that you describe, was on the wall. Only after the 2nd Invasion, did I put 2 and 2 together.......

Thanks for that waldorf.

What did you expect in the face of enosis? counter action was taken which was prompted by the desire of the GCs to gift Cyprus to Greece.

Are you talking about this:

During the Greek War of Independence in 1821, the Ottoman authorities feared that Greek Cypriots would rebel again. Archbishop Kyprianos, a powerful leader who worked to improve the education of Greek Cypriot children, was accused of plotting against the government. Kyprianos, his bishops, and hundreds of priests and important laymen were arrested and summarily hanged or decapitated on July 9, 1821.

The Cypriot people are free to unite their own island with whomever they want. Like we united with European Union.

But we never asked to unite with any Ottoman Empire or any Turks. So why you came here? The answer: To oppress and exploit us.

And then you want to blame us because we, like all other Greeks, wanted our freedom from foreign oppressors?

Wrong again!

The Greek Cypriot people, you claim, have a "right" to unite with whom ever you want, which you don't, because the island is not a Greek island, we live here too...

So you want to drag us into Greece do you?!

Your repetitive antics of crying foul only shows your insecure nature of being a Turk.

That would be remotely true if I was a Turk, but I happen to be a TC, doochbag...

Just because you live here too doesnt mean you own the place.

Mexicans live in America and their not trying to claim the whole country as theirs.

So what if you live here to? You are just an 18% minority. What is needed is the 50% + 1 vote.

In Turkey do they have to take the separate approval of the Greek or Kurdish minority in order to do what they want? I don't think so.

And we didn't "drag you into Greece". You came here as invaders. If you don't like it, then go back from where you came from.

They think that it is still 1800 and that they are not just another minority but the rulers of Cyprus.

U r mistaken, Piratis. We have always known in what century we have been living in and what we wanted... We always officially demanded being the politically equal partners of GC community... We have a great valid ground to demand political equality on this island... I won't repeat what those valid grounds r because numerous times they were explained in this forum.

The struggle between 2 communities has been going on over a century. The better political players will win... or a 3rd WW will determine the destiny of 2 communities in Cyprus.

So far Insan the political play on the TC side has taken second place to Turkish plans for the island. The TCs are diminishing in numbers by the minute. A flourishing community, especially one that wants to be an equal partner in the government of the whole island should not be decreasing. This is not a sign of political or biological robustness.

Who cares about what goes on in Turkey?

Get over your 500 year old grudge Piratis, it is the stupidest argument you have ever managed to pull out of your backside and that is saying something

How we came to be on this island 500 years ago is totally irrelevant today and you know that very well, but if you insist then we can always claim that we took this island from the Venetians and not you, because you did not own shit until we gave it to you

So just to recap, NO Enosis is not your right and never was

Get over the grudge when you have festooned the island with huge turkish flags and ridiculous cookie cutter busts of Attaturk! Your ultimate goal is shouted at the south every minute of every day Shah, then you wonder why the views of PIratis are widespread.
