Firstly I fully realize where Iam , Cyprus not the UK , secondly I do not for one moment expect Cyprus to be the UK.
I do not use thank you please or sorry in the fashion that a London bus conductor , when some were around , would use ie any more fares please , thank you fares please thank you ....
and neither to I expect either a please or a thank you from a shop assistant bank employee etc.
My older brother on the contrary constantly uses the 3 words that helped England conquer the world, he says , Please , thank you , sorry.
When in Cyprus do what the Cypriots do , I never have a problem and no one ever called me a ...Charlie
they might of said to themselves "rude arrogant sod" manners cost nothing
I find the Cypriot people on the whole extremely well behaved , I don't much like the young stupid bloody drivers but on their own they are perfectly ok.
What helps in moulding them into responsible humans is the fact that most Cypriots have a father , obviously a mother , as well as many relations , grandparents etc.
In the UK a very large number of unruly youngsters are bastards , or to use a modern description coming from single , multiple in some cases , parents. Not that unusual that statistics show that most attacks on elderly people are carried out by bastards, or single parent produce ..
The Cypriot people have manners but not as we see manners in the UK , for instance most if not all Cypriots have what is commonly known in Cyprus , ANTHROPIA , or FILOTIMO , sadly in the UK we have many honourable gentlemen and noble Lords and Ladies but as we recently discovered they are all much bigger bastards than the ordinary bastard.
Incidentally all of the honourable and noble bastards have impeccable manners !!
