funny question, who are the three parties?, who is representing Cypriots?

...we can thank Makarios because without him at the Treaty of Zurich this island would already be divided.

...we can thank Denktash because he opened the gates.

i admire them both as men of Principal, who, in the end as Cypriots first, chose.

Denktash did not open the gates because he wanted to, he opend them despite the fact that he did not want to open them. The reason was because 60,000 TCs gathered infront of the muhtarian palace demanding that the gates are opened. When TCs wish to say something, believe me they do.

SO for 30 years when Denktash was in power you idiots demanded enosis with Turkey just like Denktash was demanding?

What kind of an idiotic comment is that? Denktash had attended all the meetings negotiating BBF. When did he ever negotiate for enosis? Sometimes you have to take your head out of your arse when you are talking. The smell of your posts is revolting. Or is it that they don’t have flushing toilets in the southern lands.

According to Denktash, the Cyprus Problem was solved in 1974.

When he agreed with Makarios on a Federated solution (BBF), I'm certain he had a Confederacy in mind so that he can formalise the permanent partition down the track, because he always knew that his statelet, which later became the "trnc", will never achieve any legitimacy.

Denktash always wanted a solution that would safeguard the rights and existence of TCs in Cyprus and Turks in our region. In general, there's nothing wrong with what he wanted and and what he struggled for. The only true friend/relative/protector/common interest partner etc ... say whatever u wish; has been Turks of Turkey for many decades.

In my opinion, his only fault is; not being adequately capable, extra ordinary, powerful, talentful etc to lead the TC/Turkish political power to a solution based on TC/Turkish solution thesis...

Leaders have always officially gone for negotiations in hope of defeating the other side and find a solution based on their own thesis. Neither Denktash nor any other TC leaders or vast majority of TCs have accepted being a minority in Cyprus... u may again claim that TCs r minority in Cyprus or in TRNC but the fact is that the overwhelming majority of poeople of TRNC don't feel themselves as a minority in their own nation. For overwhelming majority of TCs it doesn't matter whether TRNC is annexed with Turkey or becomes an independent country. What they care is affluence and ease...

U may again claim that we r Cypriot nation... When did we become a nation? 430 years ago? No. 330 years ago? No. 230 years ago? No. 130 years ago? No. 30 years ago? no. Now? No. In the future? Apparently, no...

So... Face with the realities... Turks/TCs/Friends of Turks/Common interest partners of Turks VS Greeks/GCs/Friends of Greeks/Common interest partners of Greeks is the name of this game... Until now, balance of these political powers couldn't defeat one another in order to achieve their goal...
