Moose, I think you are referring to the cemetery near Makedonitissa Palace on the Coca-Cola plant road. To see all of the graves of those Greek Special Forces is disheartening. Makes me sick to see any soldier helplessly die due to friendly fire.

That's the one JAA... I thought it was Makedonitissa... it's a sad place for sure. Particularly sad for my giagia who goes there every day to look after his grave and I found it sad that you can see the big TRNC flag on Pendedactylos from the cemetery... didn't feel right for some reason.

As a small step it would be good for the TRNC authorities to unilaterally remove the flag from the mountain. As another step, it would be good for the RoC armed forces to remove the Greek flags from their outposts along the line...

Moose, thats what Turkey does...it tries to take the piss out of the people it has made suffer, right in there faces...then cries the victim internationally.

Did you ever drive throught the Ayios Dhemetios checkpoint in 2003? They had stupid signs up like 'How Happy I Am to Be A turk' and other slogans to antagonise Greeks.

This is the Turkish government we are talking sbout...as if they are going to remove the flag from the mountain side.

This is not so severe although it sounds a hilarious one. The worst of all is the "One Turk equals the whole world!" Both of them are quotations from Kemal Atatürk, the god of the Turks!

I believe that one of those slogans is on the mountains... next to the main TRNC flag, there's a smaller inscription with the star and crescent.

The slogans were also at Ledra Palace last time I crossed there.
