Sound of Silence By the RoC......not by Simon and Gurfunkel

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Nikitas wrote:Russian commentator interviewed on BBC yesterday (August 11 2009) observed that the pipeline under discussion passed along the seabed of the BLACK SEA. Last time I looked at a map that is a fair distance from Cyprus.

Secondly- the same commentator noted that the cost of the projected pipeline is 25 billion dollars and added that it would be much cheaper to patch up the relationship with Ukraine and stop these grandiose pipe dreams.

And please wait for the American reaction before wetting your panties. The Americans are dead against any expansion of Russian energy influence and have made it clear to all, including Italy who is the final stop for the pipeline.

As for the silence YFred is talking about the news was front page in the leading GC papers and on of the main items on CYBC newscasts for two days. So what silence is he referring to?

The silence of the GC media and the heroic MPs who are very loud when ever Turkey or TRNC is mentioned in any way by any Leader. Read the news paper report.

Can anyone really believe that current western policies in the Middle-East region are purely about defending freedom and democracy etc?Of course not,but in the case of a tiny island like Cyprus which is in a very sensitive location and already has an unresolved problem which the solution of is vital for its future stability,I think it is also obvious which camp it needs to keep on the right side of?In any case by joining the E.U. and also being a member of the Commonwealth etc. it has already made that choice and would do well to keep that in mind, while also being realistic about how much Turkey can be pressured, rather than peddling myths about a pie-in-the sky- ideal solution that is unobtainable, which seems to be the habit of some Greek-Cypriot politicians..Thankfully, they are not in the majority and and their influence has been reduced in recent years.

I admire Kikapu's meticulous analysis… it's a hell of a lot more than I'd ever be prepared to do for Y-Fronts!

"to do" or "could do", makes all the difference GR

I too admire Kikapu's long and coherent responses, however I also cannot help but often feel how they are sometimes been forced to fit into his personal views, taking the objectivity out from them.

Just my opinion :)

He is the only person I know to have squared the circle, and he is not even a mathematician, he is sailor like GR.

GR is a sailor.?? :D

I did not know that.!

Now Einstein, explain what's this suppose to mean.! :?

He is the only person I know to have squared the circle, and he is not even a mathematician

Do you not understand English; perhaps one of the English forumers can explain to you what is meant by squaring the circle and what a mathematician is.
I am not teaching you English for free. The tills are ringing and the dollar sign is appearing in my vision.

In another words, you don't know what the hell you are talking about, other than just throwing phrases around for us to think that you are Einstein, even though you don't even know what it means. I caught you out as I always do.!

You are yet to teach me or anyone else on here anything, Einstein.!

I can see that labelling you Einstein has gotten to your head as a know-it-all.!

My name is Manuel, I am from Barcelona, and I know nothing.
But if you really really really really reeeeeaaaaaaly want to know I will explain it old boy!

Oh, I see.! You now want to act stupid and pretend that you do not understand anything just so to save your butt.!

It is a common trick played by idiots.!

Perhaps you were not acting stupid all this time after all since you have been on the forum, but rather, you were just being your stupid self in the flesh.!

We have a word for you in Lurucina. Kara Cahil. Roughly translated means"he who thinks he nows it all but knows sod all". I know you would need translation so I'll do it before you ask.
I'll let you figure out the other one old boy. You are a clever boy, you can do it I know you can.

Now you have contradicted yourself in only two short paragraphs.!

"he who thinks he nows it all but knows sod all", and then you said, "You are a clever boy".! Make up your mind, will you.!

No translation needed, but thanks all the same. No need for you to bother next time however.!

How embarrassing must be for you to be shown up in your own thread, YFred. Next time you open a thread, at least know something about the subject in what is it that you want to talk about, or else you look like a right dork, as the case was with this thread. Then again, it seems to be your trade mark really, isn't it.?

So have you explained why your friends the heroic nationalist MPs and media in the south kept quite about this thread's subject matter, or did I miss it.

Or was it that it showed that you and your gang have been prophesising all this time about how unimportant Turkey has become to the west and the imminent collapse of the Turkish Economy utter bullshit which is what usually comes out of your cake holes.

You still haven’t made any comment about who suggested that if Turkey starts flirting with Russia, the US and the EU will start shitting bricks. Or is that not happening either?

Get a life arsehole.

Why on earth would the US and EU start shitting bricks if a third world country starts flirting with Russia?

I wish you were right, but unfortunately Turkey is not allowed so much as to fart without the say so of US. But lately I think they realised how to play one against the other.

It seems that Turkey will go down with the US and the UK. Enjoy the show.

You wish. Turks are very good and jumping from a sinking ship. They learnt that during the WW1 in a hard way. Which is why they kept out of WW2.
